Untuk memasok kebutuhan internet di rumah saya, saya mengandalkan pasokan internet dari Speedy, dengan tarif bulanan Rp 75.000. Kebetulan paket speedy yang saya pasang adalah paket promo terbaru dengan menggunakan wifi modem router, bukan menggunakan router biasa seperti speedy lama, jadi selain bisa digunakan untuk menyalurkan koneksi internet di komputer kamar, juga bisa untuk menyalurkan koneksi internet via wifi sampai radius 20 meter dari rumah (maksimal).
Beberapa teman sengaja saya beritahu password wifi rumah saya agar kalau main ke rumah saya, bisa betah dan mau berlama-lama, yah, lumayan, buat teman ngobrol. Tapi ndak tahu kenapa, akhir-akhir ini, password wifi saya mudah tersebar kemana-mana, kemungkinan besar sih nyebar karena gethuk tular alias dari mulut ke mulut, maka dari itu, saya sekarang jadi rajin mengganti password wifi saya.
Pertama, silahkan ketikkan 192.168.1.1 di browser anda, nantinya server akan meminta nama pengguna dan sandi. silahkan isi nama pengguna dan sandi anda sesuai dengan registrasi instalasi yang sudah anda masukkan, jika anda merasa tidak pernah mengubah nama pengguna ataupun password server ini, silahkan isi dengan data standar, nama pengguna diisi "admin" (tanpa tanda petik), dan passwordnya juga "admin" (tanpa tanda petik).
Masuk ke menu interface Setup, kemudian pilih submenu Wireless
Untuk mengganti password wireless, ada pada menu WPA2-PSK, pada kolom Pre-Shared Key, silahkan ubah password Wifi speedy anda sesuka hati, password terdiri dari 8-32 karakter.
Jika sudah, arahkan kursor ke bawah dan klik save. Dan Selesai, Password speedy anda kini sudah berubah. jangan lupa untuk rutin mengganti password wifi anda setidaknya sebulan sekali, yah, untuk menghindari pemakai-pemakai yang tidak kita kehendaki.
